Fight will be comparable to Floyd-Hatton

Many boxing experts predicted that the forthcoming fight between Floyd Mayweather and Victor Ortiz will end via a late round stoppage or a unanimous decision; most of them are in favor of the undefeated Floyd Jr to win. Mayweather, who was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, now lives and trains in Las Vegas, where the fight dubbed as Star Power: Mayweather vs Ortiz will happen on September 17, 2011.

Based on the predictions, this mega-event, which is expected to garner over a million pay-per-view buys, will be comparable to Floyd Mayweather vs Ricky Hatton.

The Mayweather versus Hatton fight which happened on December 8, 2007 was one of the most entertaining fights in recent years.

Floyd and Ricky were both undefeated when they fought each other. In the first few rounds of their fight, Ricky was winning most of the rounds. In the middle rounds, Floyd started to unleash his barrage of punches after he discovered the fighting style of Hatton. In the 10th round, Mayweather hit Ricky with a solid hook to the chin - and it was an understatement - which made the whole world realize that Mayweather is not only an entertaining boxer who talks trash outside the ring but a warrior who knows how to adjust to his opponent's style.

In the upcoming fight, Ortiz will come out strong as expected. He is younger and naturally bigger than Floyd so he will use these advantages in the first few rounds of the Mayweather vs Ortiz fight. Just like what Hatton did to Floyd when they fight, Ortiz will try everything to knock Floyd out in the first to middle rounds. In the late rounds, Floyd will be "Floyd" because he will start throwing his precise punches and defending himself with his shoulder roll defense.

Ortiz has higher KO percentage than Mayweather

"Vicious" Victor Ortiz, who used to be 'nobody' in the boxing world, has suddenly become boxing's newest star because of hyping the upcoming Mayweather vs Ortiz fight. Ortiz won against the undefeated Andre Berto in April and acquired the WBC Welterweight Belt.

Ortiz [won 29 (KO 22) + lost 2 (KO 1) + drawn 2 = 33] has a higher KO percentage compared to Floyd "Pretty Boy" Mayweather Jr [won 41 (KO 25) + lost 0 (KO 0) + drawn 0 = 41]. At 66.67 %, he is much better than Floyd's 60.98 knockout percentage. Victor is one of the most entertaining boxers today. He showed the world, in his recent fights, that he is one of the best in the 147-lb division.

Victor Ortiz is going to defend his WBC Welterweight Belt against Mayweather well-over a month from now. He is bigger and younger than Floyd but his skills will be tested against the undefeated tactician.

Floyd is known as one of the most versatile boxers in the history of the sport. Even with his boring style of boxing, he is still one of the best out there. Based on the Mayweather vs Ortiz tale of the tape, there are no significant advantages over the other boxer which makes this fight very amusing.

Ortiz wants to fight power with power and speed with speed. He is not afraid to exchange barrage of punches with his opponent as long as he lands a solid punch. He has the higher knockout percentage compared to Floyd, but the question is, will he be able to hit him with good and effective punches?
